ARM Siapkan Prosesor Multithreading

ARM, perusahaan di balik mayoritas mobile phone yang beredar saat ini, berencana untuk menghadirkan kemampuan multi threading pada chip mikroprosesornya.

Kemampuan multithreading tersebut diperkirakan akan mendongkrak performa mikroprosesor tersebut dan akan meningkatkan kinerja arsitektur ARM secara keseluruhan.

Seperti diketahui, saat ini mikroprosesor berbasis arsitektur ARM digunakan untuk memperkuat perangkat hemat energi.

Sayangnya, chip berbasis ARM tidak memiliki sejumlah kelebihan milik mikroprosesor x86. Termasuk di antaranya adalah teknologi 64-bit yang membuat prosesor berbasis ARM tidak mampu mendukung DRAM berkapasitas lebih dari 4GB.

Akan tetapi, penambahan fitur mulithreading akan meningkatkan kemampuan prosesor ARM dibandingkan dengan kompetitornya. Di saat yang sama, ARM perlu meningkatkan kehadirannya di pasar desktop dan laptop untuk memastikan kelangsungan perusahaan di pasar global.

Ada Bongkahan Es di Planet Mars

Dari penelitian terakhir, disimpulkan bahwa terdapat bongkahan es pernah hadir di planet Mars. Bukti-bukti yang ditemukan menunjukkan bahwa masa lalu terdapat samudera yang dingin di planet tersebut.

Sebelumnya ada dua kemungkinan bagaimana kondisi planet Mars di masa lalu. Pertama, permukaan di sana dingin dan kering. Kedua, Mars sempat memiliki kondisi hangat dan basah, yang memungkinkan planet itu punya danau-danau, laut, serta curah hujan untuk periode waktu yang panjang.

Kini, seperti dikutip dari Livescience, 4 Oktober 2010, peneliti menemukan bekas-bekas bongkahan es di planet Mars. Artinya, ada kemungkinan ketiga, seputar kondisi permukaan Mars di masa lalu, yakni dingin dan basah. Kondisi tersebut memungkinkan Mars punya samudera dan lautan yang sebagiannya diselimuti es dan gletser.

“Jika terdapat bongkahan es, kemungkinan besar di permukaan Mars pernah terdapat perairan dalam ukuran besar,” kata Alberto Fairen, peneliti dari SETI Institute and NASA Ames Research Center.

“Perairan tersebut bisa berukuran beberapa lautan lokal hingga samudera tunggal yang meliputi seluruh permukaan,” kata Fairen. “Dan perairan itu hadir secara terus menerus atau terbagi dalam beberapa periode,” ucapnya.

Fairen menyebutkan, tanda gerusan sepanjang 1 sampai 5 kilometer yang ditemukan di dataran utara dan cekungan Hellas juga bisa menjadi bukti akan adanya bongkahan es di masa lalu.

“Gerusan ini bisa diakibatkan oleh bagian dasar bongkahan es yang mengikis dasar samudera,” kata Fairen. “Ini merupakan bukti paling nyata tentang adanya bongkahan es tersebut,” ucapnya.

05 september 2010-Tumbuhnya industri online di Indonesia membuat perusahaan-perusahaan online dan startup asal Indonesia mulai aktif di ajang inovasi web dan aplikasi mobile, termasuk yang berskala internasional.

Salah satu di antaranya adalah turnamen inovasi web dan aplikasi mobile yang diselenggarakan oleh komunitas E27 asal Singapura, bertajuk 'Asia's Top 50 Apps'. Turnamen ini bertujuan untuk mencari situs dan aplikasi mobile paling kreatif dalam hal inovasi teknologi, bisnis dan desain, yang diikuti oleh peserta di tingkat Asia.

Di ajang tersebut, beberapa perusahaan online dan startup online asal Indonesia turut dinominasikan. Mulai dari startup yang namanya jarang terdengar, hingga perusahaan-perusahaan online ternama.

Dari pantauan VIVAnews, di antara sekitar 150-an peserta turnamen banyak juga yang berasal dari Indonesia. Beberapa di antaranya adalah situs online ternama seperti Kaskus, Koprol, Tokobagus, atau startup yang sudah tak asing, seperti Tokopedia, Urbanesia. atau KrazyMarket.

Selain itu, ada pula startup-startup Indonesia lainnya, seperti Tuitwit, BukuQ, Gantibaju, Lewatmana, Ngaturduit, i-klan store, Kayakarya, Gamelan, Scraplr, MyBabyTree, Movreak, Newsachormac, Adadiskon, Goorme, Brosurku, eEvent, Flusr, Kulacak, MainMusik, dan Doocu.

Panitia memberi kesempatan kepada para pengguna internet untuk memilih aplikasi kesayangan mereka di situs resmi e27 hingga 31 Agustus 2010. Dari hasil voting, nantinya akan dipilih 50 aplikasi mobile atau situs web yang mendapat suara terbanyak, yang akan diumumkan pada 1 September 2010.

Dari 50 peserta pilihan, panitia akan memilih 10 terbaik, yang dipilih oleh tim juri beranggotakan para ahli. 10 pemenang akan berkesempatan untuk bekerjasama dengan operator telekomunikasi di negaranya yang berada di bawah kelompok Singtel. Mereka juga diberi kesempatan untuk tampil pada acara Accelerate 2010 yang diselenggarakan pada 22 -23 2010 di Singapura.

Tokobagus.com, sebagai salah satu nominator dari Indonesia, sepertinya tak mau menyia-nyiakan kesempatan ini. Mereka langsung menggelar kampanye di situs Tokobagus maupun di laman Facebook resminya untuk menggalang suara.

Tanah lot is a famous rock formation off the Indonesian island of bali . it means ”land in the middle of the sea “ in Balinese language . there lie two hindus temples . one is on top of a big rock and the other is on top of a cliff . tanah lot temple is a part of sad kahyangan temple seven sea temples which are said to be the joints of bali island . it is the place to worship the gods , guardians of the sea .

Located in beraban about 13 kms west of tabanan and about 20 kms from denpasar . the temple is one seven sea temples around the Balinese coest . it was said that each of the sea temples was to be within eyesight of the next so that they formed a chain along the south – western coast .

Tanah lot is said to be the work of the 15^th century priest nirartha the eanah lot temple was then built and has been an important part of Balinese mythological history of centuries . at the base of the rocky island , poisonous sea snakes are believe to guard the temple from evil spirits and intruders . there is said to be one giant snake which also protects the temple . it is believed that this snake was created from niartha’s scraf when he established the big rock . tanah lot is well know for its sunset view . lots of tourists come in the afternoon to see the beautiful sunset view .

In 1980 the temple’s rock face was starting to crumble and the area around and inside the temple started to become dangerous . the Japanese government then provided a loan to the Indonesia government to conserve the historic temple and other beach locations around the island of bali . as a result , over one third of the rock which can be seen is artificial rock created under the Japanese upgrade works .
